Earlier, according to the Moscow Region Ministry of Health, the number of victims was 140 people. The number of dead has not changed - there are 133, including three children.

Reports of a harrowing attack inside Crocus City Hall, located in Moscow's Krasnogorsk suburb, emerged around 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT) on March 22, shocking the nation. The venue was hosting a Friday night rock concert by the veteran band Picnic, drawing a crowd of up to 6,200 people when chaos erupted.

Videos shared online captured the chilling moments as several armed assailants stormed the concourse, indiscriminately opening fire on concertgoers. Panic ensued as screams echoed through the venue, with terrified attendees scrambling for safety. Some sought refuge behind seats while others attempted to flee, with reports suggesting some sought shelter in the basement or on the roof.

Amidst the chaos, the attackers reportedly utilized flammable liquid to ignite sections of the concert hall, exacerbating the mayhem. The Russian Investigative Committee revealed that the victims suffered from both gunshot wounds and poisoning by combustion products, underscoring the severity of the attack.

Islamic State, the militant group that once sought control over swathes of Iraq and Syria, claimed responsibility for the attack.
