Armenia, Iran discuss agreement on simplified customs corridor
Armenia and Iran are currently negotiating an agreement to establish a simplified customs corridor, Armenian officials have confirmed.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee, said that the discussions are ongoing and the agreement is expected to be finalised in the near future.
Hakobyan also provided updates on Armenia’s cooperation with Georgia. “We are discussing the creation of a joint customs point with Georgia. A working group has been formed to provide coordinated services along the Gogavan-Gugut section,” he said.
In addition, Armenia is actively strengthening cooperation with the United States, focusing on developing customs capacity, acquiring new equipment for the customs system, and implementing advanced monitoring technologies.
