Turkish FM announces fresh appointments to key embassies
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has announced a new round of diplomatic appointments to several key countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yılmaz has been appointed ambassador to Damascus, while Ambassador Yaprak Balkan, Director General for Bilateral Political Relations, will serve as Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Faruk Kaymakcı, previously Türkiye’s Ambassador to the European Union, has been appointed ambassador to Luxembourg.
In addition, Ambassador Şebnem Cenk, Director General for Bilateral Relations with Central and Western Africa, has been named Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Ambassador Ayda Ünlü, Director General for Overseas Promotion and Cultural Affairs, has been appointed ambassador to Podgorica, Montenegro.
Meanwhile, Bilgin Özkan, Deputy Director General for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, has been assigned as ambassador to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
