Dozens injured as passenger bus overturns in Türkiye’s Kırıkkale
A passenger bus overturned in Türkiye’s Kırıkkale Province, leaving 41 people injured, three of them seriously.
The bus, which was travelling from Tekirdağ to Kayseri, lost control and overturned on the Kaman–Ankara highway near Karakeçili State Hospital, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Following reports of the crash, teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, firefighters, ambulance crews, gendarmerie units, and police officers were dispatched to the scene.
All injured passengers were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Kırıkkale Governor Hüseyin Engin Sarıibrahim said there were 38 passengers, two drivers, and one attendant on board the bus.
“Due to the first morning frost, the road surface became slippery, which likely caused the accident. This incident once again demonstrates how important it is for all intercity bus passengers to wear their seat belts,” the governor said.
Sarıibrahim wished the injured a speedy recovery and added that the bus driver had been detained. An investigation into the accident is underway.
