06 June 2024 10:42
A fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia's Rostov region has been extinguished, according to regional governor Vasily Golubev's post on Telegram.
The blaze, which started at 4:00 AM, was caused by a Ukrainian drone attack on the night of June 6.
While firefighters were tackling the initial fire, another UAV attack targeted the refinery. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the attacks or the fire.
This incident marks the latest in a series of drone attacks on the Novoshakhtinsk refinery. Previous attacks occurred in March 2023, June 2022, and May 2023, causing shutdowns of the plant's technological facilities.
