Drone debris sparks fire at power station in Russia’s Krasnodar region
A fire broke out at a power station in Russia's Krasnodar Krai's Krymsky district after fragments from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fell in the area, according to the regional operational headquarters.
Authorities said the incident occurred in Krasnodar Krai, where emergency services responded to a blaze that covered about 20 square metres, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Krasnodar Krai, the fire covering an area of 20 square metres was extinguished at 6:50 a.m.,” the operational headquarters said in a statement published on its Telegram channel.
Officials said no injuries were reported.
Earlier in the morning, at 6:23 a.m., authorities declared a UAV hazard alert in the Krymsky district. Local officials added that schools and kindergartens in the district continued operating as normal.
Drone activity was also reported in the nearby town of Abinsk, where falling debris damaged two residential apartment buildings. According to authorities, the debris damaged roofs and shattered windows on the upper floors of the buildings.
