Earthquake hits off coast of Malta

An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 was recorded in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Malta.

According to TASS, this was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The epicenter was located 113 km southeast of the city of Birkirkara with a population of about 21,600 people. The source lay at a depth of 10 km.

There were no reports of casualties or damage.
