Erdogan wants to bring Türkiye up in world's top 10 economies
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his government will continue to move towards making the country one of the world's top 10 economies.
Erdogan made the remarks at the first meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party's faction in the 28th Parliament in Ankara on June 21, Anadolu reports.
According to the head of state, the Cabinet continues to work on Türkiye's 12th Development Plan as well as the country's Medium-Term Development Programme.
"I am confident that the fruits of Türkiye's economic prosperity will be enjoyed by all 85 million people in our country. To coordinate work in the economic sphere, we have established close communication between the Office of the Vice President, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank," Erdogan added.
He noted that an important impetus for Türkiye's further development would be the adoption of a new version of the country's constitution.
"The concept of 'Türkiye's Centenary' cannot be realised on the basis of a constitution that was once drafted and adopted following a military coup," the president stressed.
The head of state has proposed that the right to wear headwear be enshrined in the country's new constitution.
İn addition, President Erdogan called on opponents of the authorities to support efforts being put on Türkiye's new constitution.
