Ethnic Azerbaijanis of Iran to hold rally on Dec 12

The ethnic Turks in Southern (Iranian) Azerbaijan are preparing for a nationwide demonstration on December 12.

During a nationwide rally, Azerbaijani youth plans to honour the memory of the national government of Azerbaijan on December 12 with the slogan "Freedom of justice of the national government," Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Mouze Telegram channel.

December 12 is the anniversary of the fall of the Azerbaijani national government headed by Jafar Peshavari and the killing of thousands of Azerbaijanis by the Pahlavi army.

Students of national and private universities in South Azerbaijan are preparing to join the national action, in this connection.

South Azerbaijan is currently a region in the northwest of Iran which is located in the south of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Most of all 30 million ethnic Azerbaijanis living in Iran suffer from the chauvinistic policy of Persians today. Meanwhile, our compatriots are not only the largest ethnic group but also make up more than a third of the population.
