EU provides Ukraine €193 billion in aid, excluding new €90 billion loan
The European Union has provided Ukraine with €193 billion in assistance, not including a new €90 billion loan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.
Von der Leyen stated on X that the European Union will never match the sacrifices of the Ukrainian people, but it will support their struggle for survival as long as necessary, Caliber.Az reports.
“Because Ukraine’s security is our security. We already provided €193 bn in financial, military and humanitarian support. And we just agreed on €90 bn more for the next two years,” she wrote.
The EU has established dedicated mechanisms like the Ukraine Facility and macro‑financial assistance programmes to provide predictable support for Ukraine’s budget needs, reconstruction, and reforms, including loans financed partly through immobilised Russian sovereign assets.
In addition to financial aid, the EU’s European Peace Facility and Member States’ bilateral efforts have delivered significant military assistance, including equipment, training, and joint procurement efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities.
The EU continues substantial humanitarian efforts inside Ukraine, delivering emergency aid such as shelter, food, healthcare, winter support and coordinating one of its largest civil protection operations to assist affected populations.
