European Commission urges EU countries not to buy gas from Russia

Spokesperson for Climate Action and Energy at the European Commission, Tim McPhie, has said that the European Commission called on the EU countries not to buy liquefied natural gas, and not to conclude new contracts with Russia.

“As for our goals, we have a REPowerEU Plan, which includes the goal of getting rid of Russian gas purchases as soon as possible. We urge our countries and companies not to buy natural gas from Russia and not to enter into new contracts when the current ones expire,” McPhie said, according to TASS.

The European Commission is working for European countries to stop buying LNG from Russia.
