Explosion at Bangladesh opposition rally injures four PHOTO/VIDEO
At least four people were injured in an explosion during a rally organised by Bangladesh's National Citizen Party (NCP) in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on the night of July 6, according to party officials.
The blast occurred at around 9:45 p.m. local time at Tarapur Eidgah Ground during a rally held after the party's "July March." NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam was present at the event but was not injured, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The four injured were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital for treatment. A doctor at the hospital said one patient suffered a relatively serious leg injury, while the others were transferred to the operating theatre after receiving emergency care. The patients told medical staff they had been injured in a bomb explosion.

Following the incident, NCP supporters staged a protest outside Savar Model Police Station.
Addressing supporters after the blast, Nahid Islam accused the authorities of failing to provide adequate security. He also alleged that the attack had official backing.
Dhaka District Superintendent of Police Shamima Parvin described the explosion as "highly unfortunate" and said a three-member committee had been formed to investigate the incident.
“Once a case is filed, everyone involved, whoever they may be, will be identified through the investigation and brought to justice."
