Fethullah Gülen's nephew detained in Türkiye Foreign currency, fake identity cards seized
Preacher Fethullah Gülen's nephew Selman Gülen has been detained in Istanbul's Sancaktepe district in an operation against the Gülenist Terror Organisation (FETÖ).
According to TRT Haber, Selman's wife Nur Gülen, father-in-law Bekir Oztürk and mother-in-law Mine Oztük were also detained by the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Department of the Istanbul Prosecutor General's Office.
Numerous digital materials, a large amount of foreign currency, and two forged identity cards were seized during the searches.
Turkish authorities accuse the organisation of US-based preacher Fethullah Gülen, which they call FETÖ, of involvement in the July 2016 coup attempt. More than 80,000 people were arrested in Türkiye after the uprising, and about 150,000 civil servants, including military personnel, were dismissed or suspended.
