Fire breaks out at UK air base used by US for Iran strikes
A fire has broken out at RAF Fairford, a Royal Air Force base in the United Kingdom used by US forces, according to The Telegraph.
The blaze occurred overnight on April 26. As a result of the fire, the roof of one of the buildings collapsed. Local residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke spread in the area.
Several fire crews were deployed to the scene. No information has been released about casualties or damage to aircraft, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
The base has been reported as being used by US forces for military operations involving strikes on Iran. Earlier in the day, around 200 protesters gathered near the base, calling for an end to US and Israeli military actions against Iran.
Separately, reports said Iran had previously carried out a drone attack on the Muwaffaq Salti airbase in Jordan, where US troops are stationed. The drones allegedly targeted military equipment and barracks.
Iranian military sources claim the Jordan-based facility serves as a key platform for air operations against the Islamic Republic and hosts multiple US fighter squadrons, including F-35A, F-15E, F-16, and A-10 aircraft.
