FM: NATO allies must stand by Türkiye
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that NATO allies should stand by Türkiye.
“Terrorism was listed as one of the two threats in the final document adopted at the Madrid summit. The NATO allies must be close to Türkiye, and they must not forget that the main target of terror is NATO's ally - Türkiye," APA cites him as telling the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting in Bucharest.
He said that the “security” concept is indivisible.
“No matter where the threat comes from, it must be addressed collectively,” Cavusoglu said.
Meanwhile, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said that Türkiye intends to launch a ground operation in northern Syria when it deems it necessary.
“Ankara does not intend to ask anyone’s permission,” Caliber.Az quotes him as saying.
“The operation can be carried out at any time, today, tomorrow, in a week. Everything is ready. It will start at the right time,” he said, without disclosing an approximate time frame.
