Former UK prime minister warns of globalist election interference across Europe
Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has alleged that powerful globalist forces are seeking to manipulate political processes across Europe, including through election interference.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest, Truss warned of what she described as an organised effort to suppress democratic participation and silence dissenting voices, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Truss said that the same pattern was unfolding across Europe, claiming that left-wing political forces, instead of competing fairly at the ballot box, were curbing free speech and determining who could participate in elections. As examples, she cited Marine Le Pen’s exclusion from French elections and the classification of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) as an extremist group.
She also alleged interference in Romanian elections and suggested such actions reflect a wider trend across the continent. Truss claimed that a very powerful globalist group is behind these developments - well-funded and highly organised, she said - naming institutions such as the World Economic Forum (WEF), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Health Organisation (WHO) as examples of what she sees as influential global actors. Reflecting on her time in office, Truss said she only came to understand the depth of this influence after becoming prime minister.
Truss said that she had not realised how powerful those people were until she became prime minister and entered Downing Street. She added that she had believed it was possible to challenge the system through reform, but those in power had not liked that she was confronting their authority. She also suggested that the UK itself is subject to entrenched, unelected influence. She added that there was a deep state in Britain that no one controlled.
