France not arming Armenia but only imitates it – military expert

Military expert Hayk Nahapetyan has said that France does not arm Armenia but only imitates the process, as he was interviewed by the Armenian media.

"It is of strategic importance for us to neutralize the enemy's advantage in the sky, because this was one of the key reasons for our defeat during the 44-day war. And the last wars, at least of ten years, show that states with an absolute advantage in the sky decide the outcome of the war in their favor," Nahapetyan said, Caliber.Az reports.

“France does not sell us weapons, only a memorandum of intent was signed, we were sent 20 armored vehicles. And what were these armored vehicles during the war? One grenade launcher addresses the issue of one armored vehicle because this vehicle is produced by France for a specific purpose and combat mission, for the French contingent carrying out a peacekeeping mission in desert conditions in African countries.

Moreover, when they tried to sell this vehicle to Ukraine, they did not need it and sent it back to Macron. Now this armoured personnel carrier (APC) has been handed over to Armenia, which gives Azerbaijan the opportunity to make statements.

France does not arm us, it only imitates on the propaganda field and gives Azerbaijan an opportunity to strike us at a geopolitically convenient time, commenting that the authorities in Armenia are pursuing a militaristic policy and preparing for an attack, while France is trying to arm Armenia. Forgetting that during the 44-day war, it was France that gave Azerbaijan the advantage in the sky through French military satellites. This is how France is actually helping and which country," the expert said.

In this context, speaking about the next step of the Armenian authorities to refuse the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) assistance, Hayk Nahapetyan noted that Armenia has no alternative to security at the moment, the country is left in a defenseless state.
