France should leave NATO’s command structure, says Le Pen
Marine Le Pen, leader of the parliamentary group of France’s right-wing National Rally party, has stated that France should withdraw from NATO’s integrated military command.
In an interview with BFMTV, she said leaving NATO’s integrated command does not prevent “maintaining interoperability between our army and the armies of our allies,” according to Clash Report.
In February, the National Rally filed a no-confidence motion against the French government, citing the adoption of a new energy strategy.
Party representatives said the new strategy has been approved by the government without parliamentary consent.
They estimate the plan will cost €300 billion, to be covered through higher taxes or electricity bills.
“This is energy planning imposed by force, against parliament and contrary to the interests of France and the French people,” the National Rally noted.
