FSB chief points to UK involvement in attack on Russian general
The head of Russia’s Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, has claimed that the recent assassination attempt on General Vladimir Alekseyev shows clear signs of foreign oversight, with the United Kingdom allegedly playing a leading role.
Bortnikov emphasized that Russia “will never forget or forgive the crimes of the Kyiv regime,” Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
He made the remarks amid ongoing investigations into incidents involving Russian military personnel and security forces, noting that foreign states may be involved in orchestrating attacks against Russian officers.
The assassination attempt took place on February 6 at a residential building on Volokolamskoye Shosse in Moscow. According to preliminary reports, the attacker lay in wait for Alekseyev on a stairwell landing. The general reportedly managed to react to the initial shots, which struck his limbs, before being wounded in the chest or abdomen as the assailant fled the scene.
