Gas explosion in Russia's Stavropol Krai leaves eight hurt
Eight people, including three children, were injured after a gas cylinder exploded at a café in the Kochubeyevsky district of Russia's Stavropol Krai, according to district head Oleg Borzov's post on Telegram.
Borzov stated that the fire erupted at a roadside establishment located along the federal “Kavkaz” highway. Emergency responders and specialised teams, including firefighting units, arrived promptly at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate that the incident was triggered by the explosion of a gas cylinder. All injured individuals received medical treatment and were subsequently transported to healthcare facilities.
The fire has since been fully extinguished. Specialists continue to work at the site to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. Borzov urged residents to rely exclusively on official information sources.
A similar accident occurred on January 15 in Ussuriysk, where an explosion at a private home on Vorovsky Street left several people trapped under the debris. Emergency crews managed to rescue three individuals from the rubble.
