Georgia, Europol sign agreement on exchange of classified information
The Georgian State Security Service has signed an agreement on the exchange of classified information with the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol).
The agreement on “Exchange and protection of classified information between Georgia and the Europol” was signed by head of the Georgian State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili and executive director of Europol Catherine De Bolle, TASS reports citing the State Security Service.
The document is based on the framework agreement between Georgia and Europol on operational and strategic cooperation drawn up in 2017. The fight against crime will be strengthened thanks to the new agreement, the State Security Service said.
The agreement between Georgia and Europol will come into force after ratification by the Georgian parliament.
