Germany’s Henkel ceasing business in Russia
Germany’s Henkel manufacturer of household chemicals has announced ceasing business in Russia, МК news website reports referring to the corresponding statement published on the company's website. The decision was made in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
"Henkel has decided to stop its business in Russia," the message says. “At the same time, the company stressed that 2,500 Russian employees will continue to be employed and receive salaries.”
The CEO of the company also promised to support Ukrainian employees, as well as citizens of Ukraine on its territory and in neighboring countries.
According to the message, it is still impossible to assess the financial effects of the company's withdrawal from the Russian market.
Henkel was founded in 1876. It is one of the biggest manufacturers of cleaning products and detergents, cosmetics and personal care products, as well as adhesives.
