Iran unveils it's latest long-range missile Warns US of Retaliatory Strikes / Video
In an exclusive interview aired on Iran's state television, General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the Iranian Defence Minister, revealed details of a newly developed solid-fuelled missile that is said to have significantly improved manoeuvrability compared to its predecessors.
The missile, which was showcased during a test launch, is reported to have a range of 1,200 kilometres and is designed to overcome air defence systems, including THAAD, Patriot, and those used by Israel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
The missile’s successful test-fire, conducted on April 17, was featured on the 20:30 news programme of IRIB 2. Footage from the test demonstrated the missile's accuracy in hitting its target.
General Nasirzadeh highlighted that the missile’s enhanced manoeuvrability stems from lessons learned during two retaliatory operations last year, dubbed True Promise 1 and True Promise 2, which targeted Israeli interests.
During the interview, the Defence Minister also issued a stern warning to the United States: "If we are attacked or a war is imposed on us, we will respond with might."
He further elaborated, stating, "We will attack their interests and their bases, and we will not be reluctant and will not see any limits in this regard."
Emphasising Iran’s stance on regional relations, Nasirzadeh clarified, "We are not enemies of our neighbouring countries, and they are our brothers, but American bases on their soil will be our targets."
