Moscow police say pyrotechnics, not bomb, caused loud bang in Koptevo
Russia’s Interior Ministry has commented on reports of an explosion in northern Moscow, saying that the incident was caused by children setting off pyrotechnics in the Koptevo district.
According to the Moscow branch of the Interior Ministry, police have preliminarily determined that minors activated a pyrotechnic device at an address on Matros Zheleznyak Boulevard, resulting in a loud bang.
Law enforcement agencies reported that the blast involved a children’s plush teddy bear in Koptevo. Residents discovered torn soft toys scattered along the street; one toy remained intact, which aroused suspicion among eyewitnesses, the media report noted.
Several Telegram channels reported that multiple explosions were heard on Matros Zheleznyak Boulevard at around 8:30 p.m. Police officers, bomb disposal experts, and an ambulance team were dispatched to the scene, and one of the nearby courtyards was cordoned off by authorities.
