Global experts hail rapid reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s Lachin
Jonathan E. Missner, co-founder and board member of the Israeli Economic Forum, along with international energy and foreign policy specialist Brenda Shaffer visited Azerbaijan’s Lachin district.
The visit, organized by Service for Restoration, Construction and Management in Lachin aimed to observe the ongoing restoration work in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation, as well as to discuss future priorities and directions for development, Caliber.Az reports.
The delegation was provided with detailed information about the extensive reconstruction efforts underway in the area, as well as the plans for its economic development and integration into Azerbaijan’s national economy.
During their visit, the guests also toured newly constructed enterprises, which are expected to play a crucial role in the region's economic growth.
They expressed their admiration for the swift progress made in the restoration of Lachin.
Note that, it has been four years since Lachin was freed from Armenian occupation.
According to the Trilateral Statement signed on November 10, 2020, by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Lachin district was returned to Azerbaijan on December 1.
Lachin was occupied during the First Karabakh War on May 18, 1992. Its path to freedom began in the autumn of 2020.
