Azerbaijan's Gubadli district undergoes large-scale reconstruction, modernisation Video
Reconstruction work is progressing at full pace in the village of Makhruzlu in Azerbaijan’s Gubadli district, as part of broader efforts to restore and revitalise the area following its liberation.
Within these efforts, the government is providing the resettled residents with high-quality housing, constructing social and cultural facilities, the modernisation of infrastructure, and the active use of alternative energy sources, Caliber.Az reports.
Innovative and environmentally friendly solutions, tailored to local conditions, have been incorporated into the urban development process to ensure sustainable growth and improve living standards.
Gubadli is widely regarded as one of Azerbaijan’s most scenic districts, known for its natural beauty and rich historical heritage. Large-scale reconstruction and revival efforts have been underway across the district since its liberation, carried out in parallel with extensive demining operations.
The Gubadli district was first established as an administrative unit in 1933. It was later abolished and merged with the Zangilan district before being re-established as a separate district in 1964.
The town of Gubadli was occupied by Armenian armed forces on August 31, 1993. After 27 years, it was liberated by the Azerbaijani Army on October 25, 2020 — a date now commemorated annually as Gubadli Day.
