Haber Global: Azerbaijan shares post-conflict reconstruction experience at Khankendi forum VIDEO
Turkish broadcaster Haber Global has produced a report on the III National Urban Forum of Azerbaijan (NUFA3), currently underway in Khankendi.
According to local media, reconstruction efforts are highlighted in the territories recently liberated.
"Azerbaijan is sharing its post-conflict rebuilding experience with the international community. The forum brings together representatives from government and private sectors, international experts, architects, environmentalists, and construction specialists to discuss joint solutions for the sustainable development of future cities," the report says.
Key topics include reconstruction and new urban development in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur.
The report also notes that previous editions of the forum were held in Aghdam and Zangilan. Around 400 international participants from 64 countries, alongside more than 1,200 delegates, are attending this year’s event. The main theme is the creation of climate-resilient and healthy urban environments.
The forum will continue in Khankendi on October 15-16, before concluding in Baku on October 17.
The III National Urban Forum of Azerbaijan (NUFA3) has commenced in Khankendi under the theme “Towards Climate-Resilient and Healthy Cities: Harnessing Regional Partnerships and Innovative Solutions.” Over 400 participants from 64 countries are attending, with another 500 expected at a follow-up session in Baku on October 17.
The forum promotes sustainable urban development, addressing housing access, post-conflict recovery, eco-friendly construction, inclusive governance, digital innovation, and nature-based solutions. It highlights the role of governments, the private sector, academia, and communities in implementing strategies aligned with the Paris Agreement, the New Urban Agenda, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
NUFA3, a preparatory stage for WUF13, provides a platform for international dialogue, sharing best practices, and fostering local action. The event concludes on October 17 in Baku.
