Historic steps forward: Turkish leader expected in Armenia for 2026 European summit
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, currently visiting Istanbul, has announced plans to extend an invitation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Armenia.
This development was reported by Türkiye-based Armenian media, following Pashinyan’s meeting with members of the Armenian community in Istanbul, Caliber.Az informs.
Pashinyan indicated that Erdogan is anticipated to visit Armenia in 2026, coinciding with the European Political Community summit scheduled to take place in Yerevan. The invitation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
Pashinyan’s first working trip to Türkiye commenced on June 20. During his stay, he is expected to engage in high-level discussions with President Erdogan, underscoring a renewed commitment to diplomatic dialogue and regional cooperation.
