How Russian man turned his Ukrainian wife into FSB agent From love to life sentence / PHOTO
Counterintelligence officers of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) in Sumy have detained a 36-year-old local woman who was reportedly assisting in coordinating Russian attacks.
The woman came under the attention of Russian intelligence through her husband, who resides in Kursk and collaborates with the FSB, Caliber.Az cites the SBU Telegram post.

After being remotely recruited, the agent allegedly received tasks to identify and transmit geolocations of Ukrainian military sites in the region. She covertly gathered information from an acquaintance, an active Ukrainian serviceman, and then conducted field reconnaissance using her own vehicle. During these trips, she photographed defensive positions and marked their locations on Google Maps. The collected data was compiled into “reports” for the FSB.
Thanks to swift SBU action, the woman was apprehended at her residence. A search yielded a smartphone containing accumulated geolocations and correspondence with Russian intelligence.
Investigators have charged her with high treason committed by prior conspiracy under martial law. She remains in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Since the suspect’s husband is in Russia, authorities are continuing comprehensive efforts to hold him accountable as well.
