Hungarian PM urges EU to halt Ukraine funding in "recipe for victory"
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán outlined what he termed a “recipe for victory” for Europe, calling on EU member states to cease financial assistance to Ukraine.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of an extraordinary European Union leaders’ summit in Brussels, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Addressing reporters, Orbán argued that Europe’s economic interests should take precedence amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
“First, stop the war. War is bad for business. Seek peace. Second, do not send your money to someone else if you need it for your own competitiveness. Therefore, do not send money to Ukraine,” Orbán said.
He added that the third component of his proposed strategy is to bring energy prices down to the lowest possible level, emphasizing the importance of economic stability for the continent’s future.
“It’s that simple,” the Hungarian prime minister concluded.
