Hungary’s top diplomat arrives in Moscow to boost economic ties photo
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has travelled to Moscow for another working visit, which he announced on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
In Moscow, Szijjártó is participating in a session of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. He said the primary goal of the visit is to develop economic relations amid expectations of potential changes in global politics and the world economy.

The Hungarian minister highlighted the role of US President Donald Trump, saying he is making “incredible efforts” to bring an end to the war in Ukraine. “Once the conflict concludes, the global economy will be able to return to normal,” Szijjártó noted. He also emphasised that sanctions are not permanent, stressing that Hungary aims to secure a “good starting position” in advance.
“That is why we are travelling to Moscow with a large delegation of businesspeople and entrepreneurs,” he added.
A key topic during the talks is the implementation of the Paks II nuclear power plant project.
Szijjártó reported that the first phase of construction for the new plant is scheduled to begin as early as next week.
