ICRC Azerbaijan office reps visit detained Armenian citizens
A spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross's [ICRC] Azerbaijani representative office has said that the ICRC staff again visited the detained citizens of Armenia in January.
A one-on-one meeting was held with these individuals and contacts were established with their families, APA reports, citing Ilaha Huseynova, head of the public relations department of the ICRC's Azerbaijani representative office.
She said that during such visits, the ICRC evaluates the conditions of detention and treatment of detainees in accordance with its mandate.
"The ICRC also creates conditions for the resumption or continuation of people's ties with their families. In accordance with the ICRC procedures, observations and recommendations in connection with visits are transmitted only to the receiving party," the ICRC representative said.
