IDF declares success in 12-day operation against Iran’s nuclear and missile sites
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have announced that all objectives set out in their 12-day military operation against Iran have been fully achieved, following a sweeping campaign aimed at dismantling Tehran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure.
The large-scale operation, which began on June 13, was launched in response to what Israeli officials described as rapid advancements in Iran’s nuclear capabilities that posed a direct threat to Israel.
According to a statement issued by the IDF press service, the Israeli Air Force conducted more than 1,400 airstrikes across Iran, specifically targeting key nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. These coordinated attacks resulted in the destruction of major components of Iran’s nuclear program and led to the deaths of 11 top nuclear scientists and dozens of senior security officials.
In addition to crippling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, the operation inflicted severe damage on its missile capabilities. The IDF reported that more than 200 missile launchers and 35 critical sites tied to Iran’s missile industry were destroyed during the campaign.
The operation also involved a total of 1,500 combat sorties by Israeli fighter jets, which ensured what the military described as “absolute dominance” over Iranian airspace throughout the offensive.
“All of the strategic goals of the operation have been met,” the IDF stated. “As a result of our precise and sustained strikes, Iran’s offensive capabilities have been significantly disrupted, and their strategic plans have been thrown off course.”
