Illegal weapons workshop uncovered in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk
Russian security services have uncovered an underground workshop where weapons were allegedly being illegally manufactured in the Krasnoyarsk region, authorities said.
According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), the operation took place in the city of Borodino, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Investigators said two local residents, aged 42 and 33, were converting deactivated firearms into live combat weapons. During a search of the premises, officers reportedly seized 12 weapons, ammunition, gunpowder, tools, mobile phones and cash.
Authorities said the suspects had planned to sell three Kalashnikov assault rifles for 600,000 roubles ($7,730). The two men have been detained and have admitted their guilt, according to reports. A criminal case has been opened.
The FSB also reported that similar operations had recently been carried out in 37 regions across Russia between December 2025 and January 2026.
During those raids, security forces allegedly seized 11 assault rifles, 40 pistols and revolvers, 73 rifles, carbines and shotguns, five grenade launchers, 36 grenades, more than 19.6 kilograms of explosives — including TNT and gunpowder — and over 15,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres.
