Iran condemns US strikes on radar facilities, calls them ceasefire violation PHOTO
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned U.S. strikes on coastal radar and surveillance facilities in the Sirik area of Goruk and on Qeshm Island, describing the attacks as a violation of a ceasefire agreement and an infringement on Iranian sovereignty.
In a statement issued on June 6, 2026, the ministry said the U.S. military carried out strikes in the early hours of the day against radar and coastal surveillance installations that it described as being responsible for border protection and the safety of international navigation routes. Iran said it considers the attack a clear breach of the April 8 ceasefire agreement and an act of military aggression against its territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports.

The ministry argued that repeated ceasefire violations by the United States demonstrate a lack of political will to reduce tensions or restore stability, and accused Washington’s actions of posing risks to regional security. It also said the U.S. would bear full responsibility for any consequences or escalation resulting from what Iran described as illegal actions.
Tehran further called on international institutions to respond promptly and effectively to what it characterised as ongoing violations of the ceasefire and continued unlawful actions by the United States.
