20 April 2026 12:15

The head of Iran’s Forensic Medicine Organisation has said that 3,375 people were killed during a 50-day war, which Tehran describes as being waged by the United States and Israel.

Abbas Masjedi said all public services continued without disruption throughout the conflict, which he said lasted until April 21, 2026, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

He claimed that the bombing of the “Shajareh Tayyebeh” school in Minab was a particularly tragic incident, saying more than 160 children were killed in the strike, which he attributed to the US and Israel.

Masjedi also said that around 40% of the bodies could not initially be identified due to the nature of the weapons used.

According to the figures he provided, a total of 3,375 people were killed, including 2,875 men and 496 women. He added that four bodies remain unidentified due to the severity of the damage.

He also gave an age breakdown of the victims, saying seven were under one year old, 255 were aged 1–12, 121 were 13–18, 969 were 19–30, 792 were 31–40, 639 were 41–50, 267 were 51–60, 163 were 61–70, and 60 were aged over 70.
