Iran on 23rd day without internet, NetBlocks says
Internet connectivity in Iran has been virtually shut down for more than 500 hours amidst the ongoing military confrontation with US and Israel, according to the international internet monitoring service NetBlocks.
“After 528 hours, Iran is entering a 23rd day isolated from the world as the regime-imposed internet blackout continues in its fourth week,” NetBlocks reported on X.
The measure adds to the wartime distress of millions of civilians who lack independent sources of information and alerts.
This current blackout began on February 28, 2026, hours after large-scale U.S. and Israeli military strikes on Iran (targeting nuclear sites, military infrastructure, leadership, and other facilities). It is a renewal and extension of Iran's pattern of imposing severe internet restrictions during crises.
