Iran prioritizes regional relations over US election outcome
Iran remains focused on strengthening its ties with neighbouring and Islamic countries, regardless of the outcome of the US presidential election, President Masoud Pezeshkian said.
In a statement, Pezeshkian emphasized that the result of the US election would have no bearing on Iran's foreign policy, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
"It will never matter to us who won the US elections because our country relies on its internal strength and the will of its people," Pezeshkian underlined.
Tehran’s priority, the president stated, lies in cultivating closer partnerships with Muslim nations and neighboring states, naming Russia as a key regional ally.
The US presidential election, which concluded on the morning of November 6, saw Republican candidate Donald Trump claiming victory with around 300 electoral votes, surpassing the required 270. Although official results have yet to be finalized, Trump has already declared himself the 47th president of the United States. His opponent, Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party, has acknowledged her defeat and congratulated Trump on his win.
