Missiles carry messages of gratitude for Spanish PM amid Iran conflict
Iran has placed photographs of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on several of its missiles, along with messages of gratitude in both English and Persian, Tasnim News Agency reports.
“Of course this war is not only illegal but also inhuman. Thank you, Prime Minister,” read the label on one missile.
Another missile displayed a message referencing protests in London over the February 28 strike on a girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran. “Thank you to those who expressed sympathy in London for Trump's war crimes in Iran,” the text stated.
Sánchez has condemned the US-Israeli military operation against Iran and refused to grant American forces access to Spanish military bases. In response, Israel’s Foreign Ministry criticized Spain, asserting that the government “stands with all the tyrants of the world.”
The “Shajareh Tayebe” school in Minab was struck on February 28, resulting in the deaths of 168 children, according to Iranian authorities. The United Nations has verified the casualty figures, and UN experts have launched an investigation. A separate inquiry is also underway in the United States.
