Iran rejects UAE attack accusations in official statement
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected accusations that it launched missile and drone attacks against the United Arab Emirates, issuing a strongly worded official statement.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while condemning the destructive actions of the rulers of Abu Dhabi, carried out in collusion with parties hostile to the Islamic Republic of Iran — including the continued hosting of their bases and military equipment — warns of the dangerous consequences of this situation for peace and stability in the region,” the statement said.
The ministry also accused the United States of escalating tensions in the region, stating: “Over the past two days, against the backdrop of intensified unlawful and provocative actions by American terrorist forces in the region and their movements at sea under the false pretext of ‘humanitarian purposes,’ the authorities of Abu Dhabi have also demonstrated an approach contrary to the principle of good neighborliness and violating the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, openly cooperating with the American aggressor side and threatening the security and national interests of Iran.”
Despite the tensions, Iran said it had exercised restraint. “Despite this, the Islamic Republic of Iran has shown maximum restraint, acting responsibly and in the interests of the collective good of the region and the Islamic ummah,” the ministry added.
Rejecting the allegations directly, the statement continued: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, rejecting the unfounded claims of Abu Dhabi regarding the launch of missiles and drones from Iran toward the Emirates, states that the defensive actions of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran at this stage have been aimed exclusively at repelling aggression from the United States.”
