Fresh US airstrikes rock southern Iran, leaving three dead
Three people were killed in Iran's southern Hormozgan Province after fresh US strikes targeted civilian areas on July 14, according to Iranian officials, as multiple locations in neighboring Bushehr Province also came under attack.
Iranian authorities described the strikes as another violation of the Iran–US memorandum of understanding and part of Washington's continuing military operations against the country, Tasnim News Agency reports.
According to the Hormozgan Governor General's Office, the attacks struck civilian areas in the western part of Bandar Abbas and Hajiabad County.
Officials said an environmental protection administration building in the village of Seyyed Jowzar was also hit, leaving three people dead.
In neighboring Bushehr Province, Governor Mohammad Mozaffari said US forces targeted two locations in Bushehr County in three separate waves during the early hours of July 14.
He said one strike hit an area in the city of Bushehr, while another targeted a location near the city of Choghadak, describing the attacks as part of Washington's continued hostile actions and repeated violations of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
According to Mozaffari, preliminary field assessments indicated that the early-morning strikes caused no casualties or injuries, and that "the security situation across Bushehr County remains fully under control."
Later in the day, the governor reported that four additional explosions were heard in the city of Bushehr around midday as the attacks continued. No casualties had been confirmed from those strikes at the time of reporting.
The central district of Dashti County was struck by a projectile around noon before coming under a second attack a short time later.
