Iran’s parliament speaker hails IRGC as key to national security
Speaker of Iran’s parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) remains a central pillar of Iran’s security and a source of national pride.
Speaking in remarks reported by Tasnim, Ghalibaf described the IRGC as a defining feature that distinguishes Iran from other countries.
He said the force had participated in three “imposed wars” and armed conflicts against Iran, describing this record as a “medal of honour.”
Ghalibaf also pointed to the scope of the IRGC’s regional reach, stating that its influence and capabilities extend from the Persian Gulf to the Caspian Sea.
He further invoked the words of Ruhollah Khomeini, emphasising their continued relevance.
“If the IRGC did not exist, the country would not exist,” Ghalibaf said, adding that this statement is “fully confirmed” under current conditions.
