Israel conducts airstrikes on Hezbollah weapons stockpiles facilities in Lebanon
The Israeli military said it carried out airstrikes on March 16 targeting underground facilities in southern Lebanon used by the Hezbollah organisation.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the sites were used to store weapons, including cruise missiles and hundreds of rockets, Caliber.Az reports.
"The Israeli Air Force struck a large underground terrorist infrastructure in the area of Kfara in southern Lebanon, under the direction of the IDF Intelligence Directorate and the Northern Command. The site was used to store weapons caches, including cruise missiles and hundreds of rockets," the statement says.
The strikes, directed by the IDF’s Intelligence Directorate and Northern Command, follow a series of operations over the past week against locations in Beirut and southern Lebanon. The military said these facilities were used by Hezbollah to plan and execute attacks against Israeli troops.
The IDF emphasised that the operations are part of its defensive efforts and that it aims to prevent threats to Israeli civilians.
