Israeli Air Force targets Hezbollah bases in southern Lebanon VIDEO
The Israeli military announced on July 20 that its fighter jets conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah's military facilities in southern Lebanon and successfully intercepted a suspicious airborne target heading towards Israel.
"Air Force fighters carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah military buildings located in the Hula region of southern Lebanon," the Israeli Army disclosed in an official statement, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Additionally, the statement confirmed, "Israeli air defences intercepted a suspicious aerial target over Lebanese airspace en route to Israel."
Earlier in the day, missile alert sirens were activated in the Manara area of northern Upper Galilee, according to Israeli newspapers.
Hezbollah, in a retaliatory statement, claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli soldiers near the Manara military site with artillery shells, claiming direct hits.
The incidents have heightened concerns over the potential escalation to a full-scale conflict between Israel and Hezbollah amid ongoing cross-border exchanges.
The latest flare-up occurs amidst Israel's military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in significant casualties since October following attacks by the Palestinian group Hamas.
