Istanbul to shine spotlight on Azerbaijani cinema in three-day cultural showcase
Istanbul will host the Days of Azerbaijani Cinema from April 28 to 30, as part of a cultural cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The event is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, and the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre operating under the auspices of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The initiative seeks to promote Azerbaijani cinema and foster deeper cultural exchange between the two brotherly nations. Recent Azerbaijani films, produced under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, will be showcased throughout the event.
The screenings will take place at Istanbul’s historic Atlas Cinema, as well as at two leading Turkish universities, bringing Azerbaijani storytelling to a wide and diverse audience. In addition to the film showings, the program will include meetings between Azerbaijani and Turkish filmmakers, producers, and industry professionals. These sessions will explore opportunities for joint film productions, aiming to enhance collaboration between the two countries' cinema industries.
A delegation from Azerbaijan, including prominent figures in the country's film sector, will travel to Türkiye to participate in the event. The opening ceremony promises to be a cultural highlight, celebrating both cinematic achievements and the enduring cultural bond between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
