Italian media points to external interference in fatal AZAL plane crash Praises heroic crew
The tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, has captured the attention of the Italian press, which continues to delve into the causes behind the disaster.
Leading outlets such as Rai, ANSA, La Repubblica, Sky TG24, and Il Messaggero have all pointed to the possibility of external interference as a key factor in the crash, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Reports highlight that the aircraft’s descent trajectory, the state of the wreckage, eyewitness accounts, and the precise timing of the crash suggest that something outside of the crew's control may have contributed to the disaster. The coverage speculates that these elements combined to create a scenario where external forces played a significant role.
Despite the tragedy, Italian outlets have also praised the actions of the AZAL crew. The pilots are commended for their heroism, managing to prevent a more catastrophic outcome by skillfully manoeuvring the plane in the final moments. Flight attendants are also lauded for their professionalism and quick thinking in the midst of the chaos.
Sadly, the crash claimed the lives of 38 individuals on board, and mourning was declared in Azerbaijan on December 26, 2024, in honour of those lost. As investigations continue, the international spotlight remains firmly on the circumstances surrounding the disaster.
