Kazakh, Georgian leaders seek to expand trade and cooperation
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili on the sidelines of the Regional Environmental Summit in Astana to discuss bilateral cooperation, according to the Kazakh presidential office.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the current state of relations between Kazakhstan and Georgia and discussed prospects for their further development.
Tokayev described Georgia as an important and reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus and reaffirmed his readiness to give new momentum to bilateral cooperation.
Both presidents highlighted the positive dynamics in their countries’ interaction and stressed the need to expand trade and economic ties. They focused in particular on advancing joint infrastructure and investment projects, strengthening business contacts, and making more effective use of the transit and transport potential of both nations.
The leaders also exchanged views on key regional and global issues, reflecting broader coordination beyond bilateral relations.
