Kazakh, Palestinian leaders discuss bilateral ties, Middle East situation in phone call
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the development of bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Palestine, emphasising long-standing relations based on friendship, mutual respect, and support. They reviewed prospects for expanding political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
The two presidents also discussed opportunities for closer coordination within multilateral platforms.
Tokayev reiterated Kazakhstan’s support for international efforts to achieve a durable peace in the Middle East, stressing that such a settlement should be based on the principle of “two states for two peoples.”
Abbas, for his part, expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s consistent support of the Palestinian people and acknowledged what he described as Astana’s significant role in promoting global stability and security.
Tokayev also extended an invitation to Abbas to visit Astana at a mutually convenient time.
