Kremlin: Putin, Erdoğan may hold urgent talks over gas pipeline plans
A phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is not currently scheduled, but it could be arranged quickly if needed, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
Speaking at a regular briefing, Peskov addressed Erdoğan's statement regarding plans to call Putin and discuss the supply of gas, specifically the export of Russian fuel to Slovakia via the "Turkish Stream" pipeline, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"The conversation is not planned at the moment, but Putin and Erdoğan coordinate their talks within just a few hours. If necessary, it will be arranged," Peskov said.
He also added that any questions regarding gas supplies should be directed to the relevant companies, including representatives from Gazprom.
Note that, on January 20, Turkish President Erdoğan expressed his desire to discuss the prospects of natural gas supplies from Russia to Slovakia.
He noted that he hoped the conversation with Putin would take place before the end of the week.
