Kremlin says Putin sees no need to meet with Western G20 counterparts
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no need to meet with his Western counterparts from the G20 countries because it "will not add anything constructive to the agenda".
Peskov made the remarks commenting on British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's statement that the Russian president lacked the courage to meet with his G20 partners, Kommersant informs.
According to the spokesman, the Russian president's international schedule is very active, "but in those directions that are constructive and that are in our interests."
The Kremlin official assured that "when the time comes to meet with the gentlemen in question, it will definitely be done".
"Putin has no need to meet with these people now, for this meeting cannot add anything constructive to our agenda. We proceed primarily from the judgements of these representatives of the states of the collective West," Peskov added.
